this question should be easier to answer.
editing win 10,
3.3 gh processor
16 gb ram
this same pc will run a 10p60 video switcher, with 5 cameras and many videos and title sequences.
the switcher will record 1080p60 and stream 720p to facebook at the same time.
I have cropped clips assembled into the output screen.
10 clips on the same output screen, all cropped.
the last scene to play the video take several minutes before the screen appears.
same if you just put the cursor into the timeline.
not rendering, just editing.
so I ask what are the actual limitations, like layers, crops imposed by PE.
the total total video is about 4:40, less than 5 minutes.
and why, with 16 gb, does pe show only 2gb in use?
Are you talking about a video collage, in which several videos appear on screen at the same time? Otherwise it's not at all clear what you're describing.
The limitations for the program are 99 tracks of video. However, that is based on the power of your computer. You don't say which processor you have -- only that it is 3.3 ghz -- but that and your RAM load could limit your performance. You could also see challenges based on the format, resolution and source of your video clips.
multiple images, scaled, cropped, and positioned.
1080p60 format for the output,
but it dooes not seem to care if it is 1080p60 or 720p2997
up to 13 clips may appear at the same time in the final video.
each is cropped,
each is carefully positioned
and they are visible typically for 18 second.
then the next scene includes another grouping of the same clips.
a 3.3 gh processor I would expect to do the same work no matter who made it.
this one is intel. it is, I think, an I7.
the ram load, at 16gb, with PE the only program running should not make much difference.
I also asked about nudging the crops into position on the monitor,
and I thought that was clear,
but any help was trying to help me jiggle on the timeline, which is not the problem.
I'm sorry but your sentences are so clipped and incomplete I have no idea what you're describing.
Maybe someone else can make more sense of your question.
I can tell you do not understand.
I need someone who knows PE.
What are the complete computer specs, including hard drives (how many, what kind, what is on each, and how full)?
