PE 19 - How to split clips ?

We followed instructions but the instructions were for another release of PE.  Marked the clip, select the scissors icon but only received an option to use smart trim or reduce clip time.  Clip did not split, only option was to delete one of the halves.

Not many have Premiere Elements 2019 yet.  Can you post a screenshot of when you select the scissor icon?

Are you in Quick View? Switch to Expert View.

In Expert View, you move the playhead over the area that you want to split and then click on the scissors.
