We have a brand new look! Take a tour with us and explore the latest updates on Adobe Support Community.
about a week ago I bought a new graphics card (AMD RX570 8GB on Windows 10 64-bit).
Since then my Premiere 2018 won't start.
It opens, then loads as usual and when it says: "Loading PlayerMediaCore.prm" the whole process crashes.
I read another thread where someone had a similar issue and could solve it with a certain NVIDIA driver:
And this one, though it's 2 years old:
Photoshop however starts just well. I'm desperate and don't know what else I could do.
Perhaps there's a special AMD graphic driver for Premiere anybody knows?
By now I tried:
I really hope you guys can help me,
Have you tried rolling back to an earlier graphics driver?
Thanks for reporting your issue here. We are already aware of this issue with some versions of AMD drivers. If you haven't already tried rolling back to your previous graphics driver, then please do. Otherwise, you might want to wait until next AMD version which may provide the fix for you.
Also, you can try below steps and see if it works for you:
Pre-requisite: Make sure Premiere elements is not open.
1. Go to %AppData%\Roaming\Adobe\Premiere Elements\16.0\
2. Open DebugDatabase.txt
3. Find and set the flag “DS.ForceCPUOnly” to “true”. Here is the line after setting “true” for reference.
DS.ForceCPUOnly true false
4. Dont make any other changes in this file. Save it and then close.
5. Launch PRE.
Setting the mentioned flag to true should launch the product in software mode and if it launching fine then that will ensure that this issue is with the display adapter driver. If it is still crashing, please grab the dump and share with us via dropbox. Please send me your email ID so that I can share dropbox link.
thank you very much for your help!!!
I did as you said and it worked out great.
However this report pops up:
If this just means I'll have to wait for the next AMD driver update, everythings fine.
