This is pretty urgent as I need the showreel completed by Monday!
Hi everyone,
I'm using Adobe Premiere Elements 11 on a mid 2012, '13 inch MacBook Pro with 4GB of Ram and a 500GB hard drive.
I am am currently trying to export a short 8 minute showreel onto a 1tb hard drive that is 5 years old and is 50% full. I have done this tonnes of times before and had absolutely no issues whatsoever. When I try to export the video using the Vimeo SD setting the progress bar immediately goes up to 1 hour and 43 minutes and doesn’t go down very quickly. Normally the progress bar says it will take several hours and then goes down very quickly and generally only takes about 30 minutes in the worst cases.
Any suggestions?

The time it takes to export a movie based on a combination of factors including the speed of your processor, the length of your movie project, the specs of the source video you're using, how closely your project settings match your video specs and the number of video effects and graphics that have been added to your movie. You're using a pretty old version of the program. Unless you're shooting your video with an AVCHD camcorder, it could be that the program is not able to work as easily with some of the newer video formats.
