Premiere Elements 13 crashes when I try to start or continue editing

It was working perfectly until a few days ago, when it suddenly started crashing (without opening the actual app first) whenever it got to 'loading importerquicktime.prm' in the startup screen. I deleted and reinstalled it about ten times in various different ways, and now it opens alright (onto the eLive page), but if I click into the quick, guided, or expert tabs to try and start or continue an edit, it just crashes. I'm fairly sure this is still related to the quicktime issue in some way, although I'm obviously not 100% sure about that. There's no error code at any point, it just closes the app completely.

In order that the folks here might be able to help you, you need to give

a little more information such as Mac or PC?  which OS version & has the OS recently been updated?

When version 13 was current (in 2014) it borrowed part of Quicktime.  The specifications for the PC version required that Quicktime be installed.  That is no longer true with current versions.   Apple quit Quicktime for PCs and the last version had some security issues reported.   It can still be installed.   Some will do a partial installation, some do a full installation and some do the full installation and change the name of the .exe file so it can't run by itself.

Bill is right. Quicktime's installation was one of the system requirements.
