Premiere Elements 15 to Premiere PRO

New Here ,
Feb 28, 2018 Feb 28, 2018

I am considering upgrading to Elements Pro from Premiere Elements 15 and wonder if after spending heaps of time compiling the organizer in 15,  if I can  use it if I change to Pro or are clips just imported direct from my hard drive?

Arthur

Are you hoping to open a Premiere Elements project in Premiere Pro? That won't work.

Or are you hoping the Elements Organizer catalog will open in Adobe Bridge?

Premiere Pro uses Bridge rather than the Organizer:

What are the complete computer specs, including hard drives, (how many, what kind, what is on each, and how full)?

Premiere Pro needs a much more powerful computer than Premiere Elements (even though it has the ability to use proxies).

To rephrase my question:  If I used Elements pro is there any way I can incorporate premiere elements 15 organizer into it.

You say Pro uses Bridge, Is it part of Pro and could you please explain Bridge as I have not come across this?

Thanks again

Arthur

Arthur, there is no program called Elements Pro.

Premiere Elements uses the Organizer to manage its files. Premiere Pro uses Bridge.

So are you asking if you can convert the Organizer catalog into a Bridge catalog?

It's just not clear what you're asking.

Peru Bob

You now have the specification of my computer and hopefully, you will have also seen my post "Video clips".

In your opinion, would you say that both me and my computer are ready for Premier pro or should I stay with Premiere elements 15 for a while?

Your computer would probably struggle with Premiere Pro.

Until you get a more powerful (faster processor, 1 TB internal SSD, 24 GB RAM), you should stay with Premiere Elements.  A laptop like that needs to be powered with the power adapter connected, or it will throttle back the processor speed to save power.  If you can edit on a desktop, you can get a much more powerful computer for a lot less cost.

And you cannot use Elements Organizer in CC Bridge.

Bridge is no longer integrated into Premiere PRO.

You can use the Bridge as a separate program and its also free.
