Premiere Elements 2021 video turns dark after adding it to time line

I am using 2021 premeire on Mac M1 processor.  The following are the action i took

1. Add videos to the asset

2. Import files from the asset to the time line. Some videos are dark but audio is there.

I just installed the 2021 on macbook pro M1 and did the updates.

Appreciate any help.

The 2021 version was released in the fall of 2020 and coded during the preceding year.  Google says the M1 was released shortely after that.  Adobe says the 2023 version introduced "native support".   (https://helpx.adobe.com/premiere-elements/kb/apple-silicon-limitations.html)

It may be that the 2021 version code is incompatable with the M1 and .   Consider a free trial of the newest version.  Included with actual purchase is a 30 day return policy.
