I have 2 video files .MOV and .MP4, that play outside the elements software fine. Once I add them to the timeline of a project, the playback becomes slowed. I did time remapping to 155% and this sound can be understood but does not sound like the original audio.

Any steps that I can take to further address this issue?

When you use one or the other videos individually do get this issue or is it only when they are used together in the same project?

Where did this MP4 originate from? Open it in the free download MediaInfo. In MediaInfo, set View to Text and then copy the complete report on this file and paste it to this forum.

Let's focus on only one video at a time, since the MOV will likely have some unique issues. Let's see if we can get the MP4 working first.

Also what operating system are you using?

Check the Audio Hardware Preferences. Default Audio Input should be set to No Input.
