Hi,

today I bougth Premeiere Elements 21 and installed it on my iMac 27" with Big Sur 11.0.1 installed.

Installation war quite fine and without problems. But when I want to start PE and chose the Video editor is loading all the bundels and at the end the program crashes. Tried everything but I can't get PE 21 to start. Uninstalled it and also uninstalled all the other Adobe Programs (Lightroom, Creative Cloud...), did a restart and installed it again... Same problem.

So I spent 60 bucks for the new version and even can't use it. I used to work with PE for several years and it was all right so far.

Any ideas?

Best regards

Chris

Thanks to Adobe Customer Support we could fix the problem. Something was wrong with some fonts. That was the reason why APE crashed.

So we copied all fonts to another folder and installed APE again. Everything was fine and the app started as expected. Then we copied font after font back into the library fonts folder.

You should always wait to update your Mac operating system until you verify that the non-Apple programs you use are going to work properly... not only Adobe programs, the 2nd link below is about Avid... aimed at video editing, but it is a warning for ALL non-Apple program users... none of these links are specific to Premiere Elements, but any Adobe program that is not specifically re-designed for BS is probably not going to work

This document from Adobe suggests Ann is more correct than John.  Adobe has tested and 'approved' Premiere Elements 2021 to run on Apples Big Sur.

Yes, that's why I bought the new version because Adobe said it's compatible with Big Sur.

Yes that is why I am referring you to customer care as I think something else is going on and support can have a look on your computer. For us it just guessing.
