I just updated the program and it's now crashing or freezing whenever I try to do anything. Edit/splice video, add a slide, add a picture, it all makes it freeze or crash. I'm not really computer savvy, so I don't know how to get the information on what kind of system I'm running this on, my IT dept was no help. I know its Windows, but I'm lost after that. If you tell me what you need to know, I'll google how to find it out. Please help! Thanks!

I'm afraid we'll need the tech info before we can help you, jennifer. Even Sherlock Holmes needed clues to solve a case.
Can you confirm that you're using Premiere Elements and not Premiere Pro? There's a huge difference. It also might be helpful to know which version of whichever program you're using.
Do you at least know which version of Windows you're using?
If I can assume Windows 10, click your Start menu and then the Settings cog. On the window that opens, select System and, on the page that opens, click on About. That will tell you what processor you have and how much RAM.
I assume you know how to figure out how much free space is left on your hard drive.
You say that everything you do crashes the program. What model of camcorder is your video coming from?

Yes, it is Premiere Elements, not Pro. It is Windows 10. Right now I've only started on some iPhone videos that I had on file, I haven't gotten to the camcorder ones yet. I still have over 7 GB available. The only version I can tell is that its 2018, I can't find anything that says anything more then that. I just updated it, so it has whatever current version they just put out there. Let me know what else you need to know.

Are you saying you've only got 6 gigabytes of space left on your hard drive?! Particularly if your drive is fragmented, that's way too little space to edit video on. The program is crashing because it's choking on read/write space.
Also, iPhone video may not be the best to experiment with. But that also depends on which model of the iPhone you have. (Details are everything, as you can see.) Newer versions of the iPhone shoot video with a variable frame rate, which can be troublesome for video editing programs. In any event, you will need to have Quicktime installed on Windows 10 in order to work with pretty much any iPhone video -- though how vital that is depends on which version of Premiere Elements you're running.
So depending on which model of camcorder you have, it might be best to do your test runs exclusively with camcorder footage until we can narrow down your problems.
Though if you've really only got 6 gig of space left on your hard drive, that's the most immediate thing to address.
