Project Assets - Video Preview ??? Premier Elements 2020

I have recently upgraded to Premier Elements 2020 from Premier Elements 2015.

When I click on a video in Project Assets I get a thumbnail picture,  BUT I cannot "preview" the video.   I have to add the video to my work timeline to view.

In Premier Elements 2015 I could preview videos in the Project Assets.

Is this option no longer available  or  how do I fix?

Unless I don't understand your question, I see it still works on my Windows machine.  I'm in the Expert mode and can double click the video clip in the Assets box.   Are you doing something different?
