Just upgraded to Premiere Elements 2018 on the understanding I could work with prores 422 hq files because an Adobe support agent said so. Is this possible or not? I don't seem to be able to. Am I missing something?

Thank you very much for trying to help. Adobe have just confirmed that it can't. Will have to convert to mpeg4.

Installing Quicktime 7 may well install the necessary components.

Before your reply I had already installed Quicktime 7.7.9 (Windows 10 64 bit) and it still will not play. I had already installed Premiere Elements 2018 before installing quicktime - is this relevent - should I reinstall premiere 2018? Why did you recomend Quicktime 7.6?

Quicktime provides necessary components to edit some MOV files.

I don't know for sure that Premiere Elements can edit Prores 422 HQ video.

I don' know that it can't -- I just don't know that it can either.
