I want to install Adobe Elements 2022 on a new build:
MB: MPG Z490 Gaming Plus
CPU: Intel Core i5-11600k @3.90 (w/ UHD 750)
RAM: Crucial 3200 MHz DDR4 32 GB
OS: Windows 10 64 bit (21H1)
Storage: 3 WD HDD's
Boot disk: Samsung 970 EVO plus 1T
case: NZXT H510
Would there be an advantage to adding a graphics card (assuming a compatible one can be found), or will the IGP suffice?

Go to https://helpx.adobe.com/premiere-elements/using/gpu-acceleration.html and scroll down to see if your device is included... and what it does

The Intel(R) UHD Graphics 730 is listed. I'm asuming that the 750 hasn't been tested yet, but will work.

You will be able to see your video on the screen... the LIMITED functions of a supported device will not be activated

Ok, what you're saying is to not assume the newer IGP will support Hardware Acceleration until/unless Adobe tests & lists it?
That leaves the options of hoping they eventually support the 750, or looking for a compatible graphics card.
To resate the original question, ssuming that the 750 is eventually supported, would there be an advantage to adding a graphics card and running it instead?

My Intel i9-10900k CPU has an integrated process that IS supported... but I bought a MSI GeForce GTX 1650 card since the integrated process uses system memory, which takes away from Windows and programs
But, as it says on the page I posted... only LIMITED functions are performed by the card or the integrated process... so only you can decide if you want to pay today's inflated price for something that you may not need

Right. Do you set it to use the graphics card instead of the IGP when running Elements?
Some of the listed transitions & effects are ones I have used semi-regularly. I mostly want to speed up the rendering time when exporting files. Exporting files from Elements 10 on my old system would take ~ twice as long as the playtime. Having memory available to run other programs would be desirable.

>speed up the rendering time when exporting files
You are using terms that have two different meanings... rendering is to improve playback, exporting is to create a new file
Did you go back to the link I posted to read what is done for RENDERING?
The card I have helps with real time playback, not with exporting
I did not have to do anything to disable the function inside the i9 processor... that is all (supposed to be) handled automatically
Over in Premiere Pro the video card is used for SOME parts of a video during exporting... based on everything I have read in this forum exporting is not helped by the video card

From the second paragraph: "This feature also accelerates the encoding pipeline and thus reduce the export time taken by PRE."
I've been trying to sort out my confusion for a while now as to whether export times would improve. I understood the above sentence as saying that it would.
Sorry about the "render." When I exported files in the past, I seem to remember a progress bar showing rendering time, and got in the habit of using "export" & "render" interchangeably.

Hmm... that is not what I remember from previous messages from other users... I don't know, so I wonder if that is new in version 2022?

Possibly. Wish I could get a definitive answer. I've emailed Adobe support . . .

To what email address? As far as I know Adobe does not do support via email, so beware of scammers

o dear, lesson learned, thanks (for your patience & assistance as well).

You might have a better chance of future-proofing it if you add a video card.

I run Premiere Elements 2021 on a PC with on-board graphics & am perfectly happy.
It would seem that the advantages of using a specialised graphics card are not all that great.
However, I would recommend using an SSD for all except archive / offline storage as that brings a big performance boost.

Are you happy running other programs while exporting files?
Installing an SSD makes a lot of sense, thanks. The 3 HDD's I'm using for storage are old and near capacity.

I'm sure not sure what you are driving at with this question. [Typo edited by moderator]
Whilst exporting I might check e-mails but I generally prefer to let the CPU (in my case with 8 threads) work through the video.
Once complete I will review the resulting complete video & if OK upload to YouTube.

Correct my first sentence above to: "I'm not sure what you are driving at with this question."

I was wondering about the overloading the CPU & memory. I'd like to be able to web browse, play high quality audio, copy files, and check email while exporting a two hour video. Like you, I found it prudent on my old system to shut everything else down when exporting.

I would suggest getting a second computer or a laptop.
