Slicing and merging videos using Adobe Premiere Elements 2024

Community Beginner ,

Hi

I am using 'Adobe Premiere Elements 2024'.  I am seeking advice or guidance to any existing tutorials on how to slice segments from various files and put them together as one project for then exporting to a DVD.

I assume this is done in 'Editor>video editor'?

.

These are all old camcorder videos, that ive converted through MakeMKV and tsMuxerGUI.

I have a video in each file.  Each video though has perhaps 5 seperate videoed content.  I want to slice segments from each of the videos e.g. for video "1" i might want from 15minutes in to 30minutes in of a 60 minute video, and then for video "28" I might want from 5minutes in to 10minutes in of a 30minute video.

Then I want to attach those to make a new video.

See attached for file structure.

Advice appreciated!

Thanks

What you are describing is basic video editing, and that's exactly what Premiere Elements is designed to do. However:

1) Premiere Elements only edits standard video formats -- ideally MP4s. What format is your video in and what is the resolution and frame rate.

And--

2) Premiere Elements will not output DVDs or BluRay discs. This function was removed from the program several generations ago. It can, however, output MP4s of your video projects as well as a number of other video formats.

Hi @Steve Grisetti - Thanks for responding.

1) They are in m2ts format.  I ran them through tsMuxerGUI to get them into this format.

Sorrym not sure on ' resolution and frame rate'; how can i check?

2) Oh ok, thats a problem! Would there be a way to get them into a format that I could then run through some other software to output to a DVD?

If thats not possible then i can make it work by publidhing to youtube but thats not ideal.

Thanks!

You should be able to edit M2T files, as long as they're 1920x1080 at 30 fps or another standard resolution and frame rate. But the easiest way to find out if you can do it is to try it.

I've created a series of "Basic Training" tutorials that will show you how to work Premiere Elements 2024. They should help you get started.
