Trancoding Error PRE 2020

Attempting to create ISO file of a large project (over 3 hours): SD 480, ISO Image 8.5 GB, Fit Contents to available space checked.

The source file is a single MP4 file, unedited.

I have searched the community for "transcoding" topics, but none seem to apply to my problem.  Suggestions?

As a troubleshooting step, make a copy of your project file and cut it down to 30 minutes. Are you able to create a 30 minute DVD ISO?

Followed your suggestion: SD 480, ISO Image 4.7 GB, Fit Contents to available space checked. The source file is a single MP4 file, reduced to approx. 30 minutes length. Prior to attempting the burn, I deleted all media cache files.

Encoding ended with transcoding error at 52% - see attached.  Suggestions?

First, ensure that you have no Stop Markers on your timeline and that there are no gaps in the timeline where there are no video files. (Look especially at the mid-point in your timeline for issues. In fact, can you post a screen capture of your timeline?)

If these are not an issue, give us information about your system. What operating system are you using? Which processor do you have with how much RAM and how much free, defragmented space is left on your hard drive?

There are no menu markers of any kind on the timeline - see attached screen shot PRE_Timeline.jpg.

OS = Windows 10 Pro - see attached screen shot PRE_System.jpg

The project is saved on an external HDD - see attached screen shot PRE_ExtHDD.jpg.  All files of the project are on the Ext. HDD.  Prior to executing the attempted burn of the .ISO file of the 30 minute timeline, the Ext HDD had been de-fraged.

What happens when you render the timeline (by pressing the Enter/Return key)?

The issue could be with the MP4. Open the MP4 in the free download MediaInfo. In MediaInfo, set View to Text and then copy the text of that report and paste it to this forum. These more complete specs may be a clue?

What is the source of your MP4?

Source of the MP4 is YouTube - downloaded via youtube_downloader_hd.exe.

PrE 2020 Render freezes at 7% - see attached PRE_Render1.jpg & PRE_Render2.jpg.

MediaInfo - see attached MediaInfo_PrimalEarth.txt

Your YouTube downloader likely created a video that doesn't digest well in a video editor like Premiere Elements.

Try converting the file to a new MP4 using HandBrake and the instructions in my tutorial. Replace your video on the timeline with this new MP4 and (unless there are other issues going on with your system) you should have no problems.

Though try to keep any DVD projects under 30 minutes. You're not going to be able to create a 3 hour DVD with Premiere Elements.

My problem has been solved, however I am unsure of the precise reason.  In order, I executed the following steps:

  1. Deleted all cache files
  2. Opened and resaved the project
  3. Rendered the newly saved project
  4. Exported an ISO file of the entire 3 hour project

Thanks for your suggestions.
