Trying to confirm if 2020 supports H.265 from iOS devices before I buy

Hi everyone.  Looking at possibly upgrading my rarely used PE 13 to 2020 and trying to confirm if it supports the H.265 HEVC encoded videos from iOS devices?  Looks like it might require a codec (which may or may not work?) from MS for 99 cents which is fine.  Just don't want to drop the $79 upgrade money if it's going to fail.  I kinda wanted to stick with PE since I sort of knew it........though I haven't really seriously used any video editing since the PE4 days but I do regularly use Lightroom CC so I'm at least familiar with Adobe vs other products.

I had checked out a free version of a big competitor to the full Premiere CC but quickly realized it didn't support H.265 at least unless you pay for the $300 full version and even then it's apparently not great performance due to H.265 being an export format vs. a commonly used source format apparently.  Of course with iOS devices I don't have a choice there.  I can choose H.264 but that limits the quality i.e. only 4K 30fps vs 60fps for instance.

Anyway, thanks for any input you guys might have.

The best thing you can do is to install the free trial and find out.  You will have to buy a 99 cent codec from the Microsoft store for a Windows machine.    It should work.  Some users have posted here that it does.

I've not been able to get it to work on my computer so initiated a "chat" support session with Adobe.  The response  by email:  "We have found out that as if now there is no solution to this problem, we have logged a Bug for this issue and the Bug reference number is PRE-4198837. Our team is working together with the Microsoft to find a fix but we are not sure of when this will be fixed. We would close your case as if now from our end. However, as soon as a fix is available we will contact you and let you know about the solution."

Please have some patience.  I'm in that boat too.  My hunch is that a solution may be coming in a week or so.
