Adobe Premiere 18 no longer plays / reviews clips after windows 10 update

I installed Adobe Premiere Elements 18 and it worked beautifully until Windows 10 updated. Now I
can load or create a project and add clips, etc., however when I attempt to review
a clip in the timeline, nothing happens. I eventually get the spinning wheel of
death, a program not responding message and have to shut the application down.  I’ve updated

my video driver, reset Adobe Premiere 18 and finally, reinstalled it, but nothing seems to work. 

I find this to be very odd because my older version, Adobe Premiere elements 12
works perfectly.  Any help with thisissue would be appreciated.
