when using adobe premiere elements 11, while importing a video of 3-5 minutes long, it will only import the audio file and extend it to a 35 minutes audio file, how do I fix this? never had a problem before, have had the program for about 10 years.
Premiere Elements doesn't appear to support the avc1 codec:

Peru Bob asked you to use a third party program, Mediainfo, to get information on the file you’re trying to import. Mediainfo examines the headers and gives clues about codecs and other details. I suppose Peru Bob suspects a problem with your file and want’s to be sure that the codec and the other details are fully supported by Premiere Elements.

If it has been working reliably and suddenly changed, check the Audio and Audio hardware settings in Preferences.

so the thing with that is that my friend has the exact same program, adobe premiere elements 11, exact same on and has no problems at all with the exact same videos, is there a reason for that? also if I would buy the 2019 versions would I have the same problems?
