I have Premier Elements 2018.  When I import a video from my Motorola G7 Android phone, the audio and video are in sync until I make a split in the video and delete the unwanted portion (in this case the first minute of a 5 minute video), then the audio and video are out of sync.  How do I resolve this?

It is only a guess, but the problem is probably that the phone records with a variable frame rate and that version of Premiere Elements wasn't good with variable frame rates.  (Video cameras don't do that.)

There are two ways of finding out.  You can download and install a free trial of the newest version that is much better at phone video.  Or you can use (the free) MediaInfo to post a screen capture of what's in the video file.   The last choice is to use (the free) Handbrake program to c

Thanks so much for your response.
I downloaded the Handbrake program to make the video a constant frame rate
and that did the trick! Thanks again!

Hi there,

Thanks for reaching out. I agree with @whsprague. There is a possibility that you may get sync issues with Adobe Premiere Elements 2018 if the media file has variable frame rate.

Please share the details asked by the expert above. It will help us analyze what could have caused the issue.

Thanks,

Shivangi

I recorded a video with a Motorola G7 phone. The video was of good quality
and the audio was also good when I uploaded it to Premiere El. 2018. The
trouble started when I deleted the first minute of the video. This left
the audio and video out of sync. To upgrade to the latest version of
Elements would have cost me $80, so I decided to try the Handbrake software
first. The program successfully change the frame rate from variable to
constant and that was all it took.
Thanks for all the help.
