The Blu-Ray burning feature was unexpectedly dropped in the 2018 version. Has it been brought back in the new 2019 version after all the user requests for it to be brought back?

Hi Steve.

Can you recommend an inexpensive (less than $100), easy to use 3rd party software for burning BluRay and AVCHD discs on Windows computers?  I assume I would first use PrE 2019 to export the movie into a single file in MP4-H.264 format, then 3rd party software to burn.  Ideally would like software to author BluRay menu and chapters, but that's not essential.  I really just want to preserve and distribute HD content to friends and family.  I guess my only alternative is to buy lots of USB memory sticks.

Thanks,

In addition to Bob's suggestion for Sony DVD Architect Studio 5.0, there is another choice.   It does cost more!

Sony sold all their "Vegas" video software to "MAGIX", a German company.  They have continued to update, refine and improve the old Sony products.  You can buy the current version of DVD Architect here:  VEGAS DVD Architect – DVD and Blu-ray Disc authoring

The DVD Architect that Magix sells is the Pro version, so it's a great buy at only $99.

On the other hand, if you buy the Platinum version of Magix's Vegas Movie Studio 15 (on sale now for $60) they throw in the pro version of DVD Architect free!

ImgBurn will burn a disc from an ISO file but it is not a disc authoring program and will not create a BluRay.

I cannot understand why Adobe has dropped the very useful and, to me, essential Blu-ray disc burning feature from Premiere Elements. I was about to order the new 2019 version when I discovered this omission so I'm afraid this has cost Adobe a sale and I'm going to stay with version 14.

The reason is likely a licensing dispute.  Losing your sale was less costly than paying the licensing fees.   Good choice to stay with 14 or 15.

I still don't have it, How can I get it? If I had known it would not burn blu-ray I would not have bought it. I want my money back or it to start working. What a dissapointment. Been using it for 15 years. No more.

Hi there,

I understand your query. I've answered it in another discussion thread of yours. Here's the link: https://community.adobe.com/t5/Premiere-Elements/Can-we-burn-Blu-Ray-discs-in-Premiere-Elements-2019...

Thanks,
