I am using Premiere Elements 15 on Windows 10. I would like to know if I can edit on it the Motion Jpeg files from the Canon 5D Mark IV? Thank you

Probably not.  If you put a clip on DropBox or similar, I'll try it.

This reference should explain it:  MJPEG - How to Handle It

I think I am incorrect.  You probably can edit the MJPEG with Premiere Elements.  Until I find a sample file, I can't be sure!

Did you try.

If you did and have not image you need to install the codec:

Free Download Morgan M-JPEG Codec 3.99.115

Ann,

The OP's question is specifically about a single camera.

A guy from Florida made himself famous on YouTube when he claimed the 4K footage from a Canon 5d Mark IV is impossible to edit.  The files are large, the bit rate is very high and the format is M-JPEG.

I've been looking for straight from camera clips to answer the question.  So far, I'm failing.  It has to be that camera set to 4096 x 2160p at 29.97 fps 500 Mb/s.

Dont think the mjpeg is going to be the problem but rather the bitrate.

Agreed but I'm probably not going to find out because I can't get a test clip anywhere.
