Cannot record live video from Sony RX100 VII or MacBook webcam

I'd like to record live video from my Sony RX100 VII and my webcam to Premiere Elements on my MacBook Air. I have connected the camera using a Lindy HDMI-USB adapter which works fine with Skype and Teams so I know it's working. However, When I try to select 'Videos from cameras and devices' on the Add Media dropdown I get the message 'No supported device is selected'. Indeed it can't even find the webcam on my MacBook.

All suggestions gratefully accepted.

I don't believe live capture over webcam is supported on the Mac, anthony. In fact, it's barely supported on Windows Driver Model devices.
