Elements is crashing all the time. Keeps freezing. Pointless. Also, the big "FREE TRIAL" all over the video doesn't help. Doesn't make sense.

What are the complete computer specs, including hard drives (how many, what kind, what is on each, and how full)?

I have no idea. I have an HP Spectre 360. And now the app won't load. It
did earlier today. Why is this happening? It keeps getting worse? Do I have
to pay $99 for it to actually work?

If it worked earlier, it may be that some fragment of the program failed to close and is "stuck" in memory.   Try rebooting your computer.

(No, you do not have to spend $99.  The trial software is free and is the same as what in buy.  In fact, what you buy is only the serial number or license to use it past the trial period.)

Not to be cynical, but this is the reason there are free trials. To see if the software fits with your hardware and workflow. This may be a case of a very bad marriage of software and workflow. If so, you definitely should consider a different video editor.

How full is that 256 gig hard drive that comes with your system? A hard drive without adequate space can certainly choke a program like Premiere Elements.

When you say that the program crashes all the time, do you mean when you're editing video or that it doesn't even launch and run with nothing on the timeline? That's a huge consideration also.
