I am running Premiere Elements 11 on Win 7
I suddenly started getting an error message that says my NVIDIA GeForce GT620 driver is out of date... please load updated driver. When I click OK the computer continues to load Premiere.... for ever, and ever, and ever.... If I wait 10 or 15 minutes, sometimes it finally opens load (usually the computer just locks up and I have to do a forced shutdown), but then when I bring up the file I've been working on it only plays the audio. So, I did as it suggested, I went to the NVIDIA website found the latest driver for my card and installed it, rebooted the computer and... Same result, same error message, same freeze up of the machine. So, I reinstalled Premiere and guess what? same exact results.
Can anyone help? The only thing I had left to do on this current project was one final check and then burn to DVD. I really needed to get it done by the end of this week.
Phil
The Premiere Elements software did not change and has been working. Your description suggests something with Nvidia or your Windows system changed. I know of nothing you can do with Premiere Elements to fix your issue. Try looking for things to change in your Windows display settings or Nvidia control panel. My guess is that there is a "automatic update" setting in the Nvidia control panel somewhere that triggered your error message.

That was my assumption as well. Went to load the latest driver from Nvidia and of course that required that I install the latest version of Java on my computer... took 3 tries but that finally worked. Took 3 tries to get the latest driver to download and 2 tries to get it to install properly. But it worked and I was able to finish my project and burn the DVD.
However, today I went to start a new project. Opened Premiere... everything oK... clicked to add media and it crashed. Tried again, same result. Even tried opening an existing project and adding media to it. Same result. Crash. Got any thoughts on that?

My thoughts are the same. The Premiere Elements software is not changing. It ran on you computer. So, something else in your computer is changing. The hard part will be finding what is changing.
