Formating text in titles in Premiere Elements 21

Hi. I switched from an old version of Elements (10) to the new one.

In the old one there was the possibility to define the line space of text in titles.

Where is this in PE 21???

Even also the character spacing (kerning for fonts) with an exact number to make it similar to other text fields seems to be gone, too.

?????

So to have the titles I want I have to create them in PE 10 and import those titles???

Hhm!

Thanks for helping.

You can not control the leading or kerning of text in Premiere Elements 2021.

If you select the option to Save a Title under the File menu, you may be able to save your title in version 10 and then add it to your version 2021 project.

Hi Steve!

Thanks for answering so quickly.

21 is of course much newer and handles the rich capacities of my actual
computer better than the old version.

But this is poor, that focusing on making Elements easier with more effects
and assistants means also to delete good possibilities in the expert mode.

To create a title in two lines looks bad not having a space in between. And
a whole line is too much too. And to have a rider for Kerning is helpful too
to create your own title art. (this you can do manually by sliding the text
frame, but to have it similar it is hard to get the same result. Copy the
title doesn’t work, cause changing the clone changes also the first one.)

As a matter of fact I never used the special effects. To make a little film
or clip it looks so much more professional without.

But I know it is marketing for a certain group of customers for “easy
workflow” who have other interests.

But: Give these possibilities back!!!

The professional version is too expensive and complex if you need it only
once in a while.

Thanks.

Thank you for your thoughts, Jorn. But this is a user to user forum. We have nothing to do with the features in the software itself.

Jorn, you wrote, "Copy the title doesn’t work, cause changing the clone changes also the first one."

You can make multiple copies in the Project Assets panel.  Then the clones become independent.

Have you considered making titles with a transparent background in other software like Photoshop Elements?
