Have they improved handling of HEVC files in AP2021?
I have serious issues with HEVC files from GoPro in AP2020 including:
I’ll try to install trial version but it might behave differently to full version due to lack of GPU acceleration.

I’ve just downloaded trial version of AP2021 and checked it with HEVC files from GoPro. The same problems which I described above occurred for AP2021
1. Problem with 2.7k video: https://youtu.be/Pf-2ueqO5lQ
2. Problem with cross dissolve and film dissolve transition
3. Problem with high frame rate (slow motion) files: https://youtu.be/YTO_wRZdsUs
I want to point out that those problems don’t occur with H264 files.
I don’t know if activation of GPU acceleration can help here. I don’t want to spend 80 euro just to test it.

Hi @tomek398,
The handling of HEVC files have been improved in PRE 2021. Although, the PRE does not support 120 FPS files (maximum FPS supported by Premiere Elements is 60 FPS).
That's one of the reason why you are still facing the issue with GoPro media. Let me know if you are facing issue with 60 FPS files as well. Also, would be helpful if you can share the device and media details. If possible, please share one sample video.
Thanks,
Anubhav

I can't agree. I use PRE with 120FPS files (both H264 and HEVC) and 240fps (H264 only). I have problem with 240fps HEVC. Initially PRE can play them but it quickly freezes after some short time.
There are also issues with 2.7K 60fps files from GoPro. As I and others wrote before they look scrambled. See my first post.
Clearing the media cache didn't help

Also, you can try clearing the media cache and they try importing the files again in Adobe Premiere Elements 2021, this might resolve the issue. To clear the media cache files:

PrE 2021 still doesn't support HEVC at least not the version used by latest iPhones. Adobe support spent over an hour on my system and finally gave up. They sent me an email that said, "The HEVC files from iPhone 12 are reported to have issues with Adobe Premiere Elements. We have raised the request to our engineering team and they are investigating a fix. At the moment, we do not have a workaround, but we will share an update via email."
Interestingly enough Adobe Premiere Rush imports HEVC without any issues, so Adobe knows how to do it they just need to fix PrE 2021 and issue an update.

Can you turn off the HDR option in the latest iPhones. I'm reading that the HDR (High Dynamic Range) option on the iPhone 12 uses a Dolby codec.
