I want to include video clips from my iphone 6 [ios 11]shot using a gimbal for stability. If I select them in Add Media they appear, but without a thumbnail. I can drop them to the timeline but the monitor goes black.  What is happening, pls?

Most likely a codec issue.

Convert with Handbrake before bringing them into PE.

After many hours trying, there's a work around ! Videopad from NCH [which looks like a half decent editor] can be used with limited functionality & no time limit as freeware. It will accept ipone MP4 clips & export as AVI, which PE will accept. You can queue clips & let it work in the background.  Adobe's response was to upgrade to PE2020 for ninety nine  quid.
