I have used Premiere Elements 10 for some time ( unfortunately not constantly.)

I have always struggled to fully understand how premiere elements files and locates the various folders for a project.

Is there a dedicated manual ,video or similar document that I can access to clarify this area?

I have tried to locate this info on the internet but any details found all relate to specific problems and not a general explanation.

Any help for a dummie would would be appreciated.

I think I remember that version 10 is the same as later versions.   When you start a new project, you have the option of putting the actual project file where you want.   Once the project is open, you can go to Edit > Preferences > Scratch disks and select where you have those files.  The source media files are where you put them when you copied them to your computer.
