I am trying to import some videos from my MotoG6 phone which are mp4 format. Some import without any problem while a couple always cause PEL15 to report a generic error - screenshot of error report below. Any thoughts as to why this may be happening?
Most likely the issue is that your video uses variable frame rate compression. Version 2019 can work with variable frame rate video, but earlier versions can have an issue with it.
The easiest solution (short of upgrading to the current version of the program) is to convert the video using the frame download Handbrake. My tutorial shows you the hows and whys.

I'm not sure what's up, since I edit Moto 6 video all the time. Although I guess it depends on which software you're using to shoot your video on your phone.
Open one of your MP4s in the free download MediaInfo. In MediaInfo, set View to Text and then copy the report that is generated and paste it to this forum. Once we know the specs of the video you're trying to import we can more likely help you.

Hi Steve, thanks very much for that, it has made my phone much more useful than I thought it was.
