Premier Elements crashing in Windows 10

We have a Windows 10 machine and find that Premiere is unusable. It's always been a bit sketchy, but we were able to get by, but now it's crashing all the time. We recently got the following error message (attached). Can anyone shed any light?

Also, I don't know if this is related, but we used to be able to open/edit/view .MOV files, but now all of a sudden it doesn't like them and we're having to use some software to convert into an MP4.

This is a Premiere Pro board. Move it to the Elements board and you'll have more luck.
