I was trying to edit something in Adobe Premiere Elements 15, and when I went to add an MP3 file, Premiere just crashed. I tried using a .wav file, but that didn't work either. I just wonder what's happening here.
OK. So it turns it wasn't the MP3s crashing the video. It was something with one of the clips. So I put the one clip back in and it doesn't crash anymore.

Please elaborate.
Although this is for Premiere Pro, most of the information applies to Premiere Elements:

What operating system do you have?
What processor do you have with how much RAM? How much free, clean, freshly defragmented space is on your hard drive?
How long is the video project you are adding this audio clip to?
If you look under the Edit menu, what is listed on the General page under Project Settings?

Some i5s are marginal for video editing, some are adequate. Can you be any more specific about the processor you're using?
Also, can you provide the Project Settings information I asked for?
And what model of camcorder is your video coming from?
I'm trying to eliminate a system resource limitation as the source of your issue, so I need some specific information.
MP3s should be no problem for Premiere Elements 15. But if your system lugs or is challenged by them, WAVs always work. So it's not simply a matter of the format of your audio clips.
