I can load pictures but I cant load video.  I get and error that reads...

File not supported / One of the necessary componets may not have been installed

Version 4 is so old it is not usable any more.  There have been 14 annual updates since it was current.  It is not supporting files because the formats now in use weren't invented then!  Underlying operating systems have changed significantly.   You need a new video editing program!
