Premiere Elements won't allow me to import 4K 60fps GoPro videos.

Hi,

I've recently shot some footage on my GoPro Hero 9 black in both 4k 30fps and 4k 60fps. When I try to import all the footage into Premiere Elements, it only imports the 30fps files and not the 60fps ones. It says "file not supported or missing a codec"

Does anyone know how I can import them? Or if not is there a way to export the 30fps footage as 60fps once I've finished?

Thanks in advance

Premiere Elements can not edit 60 fps or 50 fps 4k video.

The easiest solution is to convert the video to an editable MP4 using the free download Handbrake.

I have several 4K50/60 clips and play nice in 2021.

I dont think its the framerate but rather the codec.

2021 has not been optimized for gopro9.

Thanks for your thoughts, Ann. If what you're saying is true, I'd like to see a MediaInfo report on GoPro 9 footage, just to see what codec they're using.

It's not that I doubt you. I'd just like to know the specifications for future reference.

I have seen this in the past with PrPro.

New gopro files would not import. After optimizing PrPro files would play nice.

I don't have a GoPro9.  I bought a DJI Pocket 2 last winter with the intent of shooting more stable, off tripod, video and it works really well.  Until this topic, I've not tried the DJI 4K60 setting.  .   It functioned fine in PrE 2021.
