Sound clips that suddenly become mute in Premiere Elements 2018?

Hello!

I had one audio clip on one audio track that sounded as it should.

But when I moved it to another audio track, it became mute,

although there was other audio clips on that same track

- that sounds correctly.

It has happened before and It becomes a problem

when you do not have the space and need to furnish the sound.

Thanks in advance

Gert

I'm confused by your question.  Would post a screen shot of your timeline so I an try to visualize what you are doing?

I am sorry, I could not post the screen shot the other way.

Greetings from Sweden.

Bert,

I would like to try to help but I can't figure out how to duplicate your situation.   Since final output might not take advantage of 5.1, perhaps converting it to 2 channel with Adobe Audition or the (free and capable) Audacity.

Ok, thank You for the advice.

But one last question, please. Where do I choose standard two channel audio,

so I can choose that for all my audio tracks. And avoid this "random" 5.1 on some tracks?

That would be a big help I think.

Sincerely Gert

Hello, and thanks for fast reply.

Unfortunately I have erased the muted clips and ipmorted the audio again,

so I can not show it here now.

But I Think the problem has something to do with the 5.1 option in Premiere Elements.

When I film, in this case, I record audio separate with Zoom Fieldrecorder F1 with a shotgun mono mic

that produce two channels in mono (as shown in the screen shot, on track 2). So I want it to be.

But my problem comes when I move a two channel audio clip to another track  with higher number (in this case track 5).

The clip (with my two mono track) automatically turns into 5.1 sound, and also turns off the rubber band keyframe function.

I still can mix in the adjustments panel, but that is not what I really wont. And I don´t wont 5.1 audio.

So, I tried to put the clip back on a two track audio track, and here is where the problem show.

The clip has become mute, even thoug I have other audio clip on the same track that sounds like they should

(I can still see the sound curves on the clip). And if I put the clip back on the 5.1 track - it is still mute. Can not revive it.

I dont know how to avoid audio tracks wich will become 5.1 tracks.

I dont know if this seems understandable.

Sorry for my bad English.

Sincerely Gert Landewall
