Video doesn't display on monitor window

Adobe Premiere Elements 2019.  First time user.  When I double click on a video clip, the monitor window opens up, but the screen is black and the video doesn't display.

Windows 10 Pro, Intel i7-7600U CPU @ 2.8GHz, 8,00 GB RAM, 64 bit OS, Intel HD Graphics 620
