Windows 10 Laptop display driver issue with Premiere Elements 15.

Sorry, I think that I have followed all of the other threads. The bios "fix" doesn't work for me because of my platform (Windows 10).

I am running an Alienware laptop with the latest drivers. (NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1080 and an Intel HD Graphics 530).

Help will be appreciated, the software is useless to me as it is.

1. Turn  off the program.

2. Go to the nVidia site and ensure you have the latest driver for your video card.

3. Set your Folder Options to View Hidden Files, then go to c://ProgramData/Adobe/Premiere Elements/15.0 and delete the BadDriver.txt file. (If you have more than one version of Premiere Elements on your computer, you'll find it in ProgramData/Adobe/Premiere Elements)

4. Restart Premiere Elements.

Thanks for the quick response. The BadDriver file was right where you said it would be.

I did not have the latest driver, they released a newer one two days ago. I installed the new driver and even selected the "Perform clean installation" option.

I disconnected my second monitor, rebooted, verified that the BadDriver file was gone and ... still not running.

Any, and all, further options will be appreciated.

Two guesses.

1- Try to uninstall and re-install Premiere Elements.

2- About a year ago there was an issue with nVidia drivers on game machines that caused havoc with some video editing software, including Premiere Elements.   The fix was rolling back to an older driver.

Will upgrading to 2018 make this go away? I thought it might but I am afraid to spend the additional money and then still have the same issues.

Great idea, however there does not appear to be a free trial version of this available.
