I'm in the most current Beta of Premiere Pro and Auto -Save will interrupt like two minutes after having just auto-saved even thought my settings are at 12 minutes.

Bizarre; there's no secondary "alternative" clock in use, for auto saves. If user action delays/prevents a previous auto-save, the next one could occur sooner than expected.

Could you send a screenshot of your auto-save directory, with "date created" shown for the auto-saved .prproj files?

Well, it doesn't show the auto-save happening 2 minutes apart but I experienced this twice or three times now after just starting up the program on different days. I only see one instance in the folder on Jan 30th of this.

Here's the screenshot.

So it just happened just now. I looked at the clock at the first save. And it was 4:12. I went to the auto save folder to see it there. It wasn't there, only the one before it at 3:55. Then I went back to the program to do one change and it auto-saved again at 4:13.

I also have this issue- weirdly it happens later at night when I've been working all day, but I have my auto-save set to every 20 minutes, but at night it starts to do it as little as 2 minutes apart

What's the autosave interval, from PPro's Prefs --> Auto-save?

Is "Auto Save also saves the current project(s)" checked?

As previously stated, PPro contains zero code to implement some secondary clock, for auto-saving. If user action delays/prevents a previous auto-save, the next one could occur sooner than expected.

Also, PPro contains no code that changes the auto save interval at night time. 🙂

We would LOVE to see a screen movie that shows PPro, with no user interaction, auto-saving at a different interval than that specified in the prefs.

Ya that just isn't true unfortunately. Most likely a bug, but it exists. I have a screenshot showing the times of the auto saves. I had multiple saves minute after minute. I can try to run OBS studio to hopefully record this behavior but don't really feel like running it while editing my videos. My intervals are set to 8 minutes for the auto save function. Not the 1 minute intervals you see all over the auto save folderScreenshot 2025-02-26 112431.pngexpand image

In your screenshot, we notice that the several-times-a-minute saves in your list have tiny file sizes, compared to the 'full-sized' ones. Normally, when an auto-save fails for any reason, PPro deletes it immediately; the fact that it's not doing that, suggests that you don't have delete privileges at the save location.

That could also be the result of an access collision; do you have some other process accessing the auto-save directory? Usual suspects = anti-virus programs, Dropbox, OneDrive, any sort of cloud sync.

So this is a new pc for a new job in a warehouse that follows ITAR Compliance and a myriad of other very strict policies. They do have a dropbox sync and OneDrive throughout the building, and we removed Norton 360 (came stock on pc).

I wonder if those could be the culprit. There is also Sentinel One installed to monitor everything
