Error: Unable to apply a mask to the image

There is no option to apply a mask to an imported image file in Adobe Premiere Pro Beta.

Masking is going through a major update in Premiere.  We moved the masking tools out of the Effect Controls Panel and made them into proper tools in the tools pallete.  There is a post about it here: https://community.adobe.com/t5/premiere-pro-beta-discussions/now-in-premiere-pro-beta-new-masking-to...
