Markers on a clip just won't stay gone

Steps to reproduce:
1. Import a clip with markers embedded (in my case, it's an MP4)

2. Open that clip, and do Markers > Clear Markers

3. Save & close the project

4. Open the project again
 
Result:

Clip has markers again

Expected:

Markers should remain gone
