moving subs to an other subtrack makes them unusable

I try to transcript a timeline with different languages.

Trouble occur when I want to see all captions.

If I shift captions from other tracks they become unusable.

steps;

put a caption in a timeline

at another caption track

drag the caption to another track

result;

caption becomes grey and unusable

Why can't we set more then on caption track visible?

The staff response to this was that it might create errors in dealing with which track to burn in etc.

The workaround added early in an 2023 release is "Upgrade Caption to Graphic." Duplicate the caption track so you keep it as captions, and then convert. Then you can see multiple caption tracks.
