Mulicam angles being changed back to 1 by Premeire for no reason

I am seeing instances of multicam clips in timelines where I've set it to say angle 2 and then I come back to it (possibly after a restart) and it's on 1 say. Actually it does seem to always change to camera 1.

Premiere is changing the angle without my intervention. I've seen this on multiple timelines

Pr beta 23.6.0.32
Large Production

Also, when I fix them - like just now I put a MC instance to angle 4, saved. On restarting Pr, it was back at 1, so it didn't stick. Same thing for just closing and re-opening the project without closing the whole production.

I've also tried reverting to non-beta 23.5 and it won't even playback some of my wav audio so that feels like a no-go, so I'm a bit stuck. On further analysis, every file says pending when I open the production in 23.5 and it seems to be wanting to make a new .ims file in C:\Users\[username]\AppData\Roaming\Adobe\Common\Media Cache Files for each file, which in my case would be a long wait on a big documentary like this.

@Nick Lear This sounds like the result of a known problem that started in the beta builds about a week ago. It has already been fixed internally and should be available soon in a Beta build. I will update this post after I can verify the fix in the next build.

UPDATE: Verified as fixed on mac/win at Pr23.6xBeta035
So just pick up beta build 035 or later and your MC edits should be preserved.

Awesome, thank you.

For now my workaround is to alt-drag a copy of any multicam clip that isn't
camera 1 to make a duplicate on the layer above, then select the camera
angle with the number key, then a keyboard shortcut set to
multicam-flatten. Luckily most of my edit is not multicam.

Any ideas on why the production does not open normally in 23.5?

To confirm - I seeing this as fixed as of upgrading to build 44 (I went from 32 to 44).

On the other hand, build 44 is much slower doing certain things in the timeline for me, like dragging the edge of a clip.
