Project files no longer play or render

I have a project file which worked well and exported a video I thought was final. We found a small error a few days later, and now the project file will no longer playback or render successfully.

While troubleshooting, I've found deleting all the audio clips causes the sequence to play and render. Removing all the speech enhancement did not seem to help. If I open the project and immediately try to render, a window pops up with a red triangle and exclamation mark stating:

Error compiling movie.

Export Error

Unable to create audio renderer.

Writing with exporter: HEVC (H.265)
Writing to file: [path]

Writing file type: HEVC

Around timecode: 00:00:00:00

Component: HEVC (H.265) of type Exporter

Selector: 9

Error code: 6

I tried exporting as H.264 and got basically the same error:

I've tried going back and testing manual and auto-saves of of the project file. The only files that work are the ones from before applying speech enhancment via the dialog tag in the Essential Sound panel.

I've found it's possible to playback if I delete the clips with sound and possible to render if I disable the audio in export settings. I've tried everything I can think of to remove or disable speech enhancement, but nothing I've tried so far has worked.

Currently running v24.1.0 BETA build 55 in Windows 11 Pro 22H2 build 22621.2428. This originally happened at least three beta versions ago on October 4, 2023.
