Transcription crashes Premiere Beta released Feb 4th

Hi, updated to v.23.3.0.23 and when trying to transcribe any new sequence - premiere crashes. Oddly, when loading an older project and going to an existing sequence, I can retranscribe without error. But even when importing new footage into and old project and creating a sequence, it crashes. 

I'm on Windows 10, latest update.

I have not tried build 23 yet. Do you get the error with clip transcription also, or only sequence?

Seems to be both - I enabled automatic clip transcription and it kills the app as well

Just wanted to add to the number of people with this problem. I downloaded the beta to try the new transcription this morning. I only tried the sequence transcription. I closed Geforce Experience and still had a crash.

 

Windows 10

CPU 5800X

GPU 4080 FE

I spoke too soon. I was able to get the newest verison on my MacBook Air M1, but not on my desktop. It also doesn't seem to have fixed the problem for me on the MacBook. Might be something else going on. I guess I'll just have to be patient.

Win10. The problem exists in Build 23 and 24 for me. I installed 23 early AM today, then went back and saw build 24.

 

I tested only transcribing a clip in Build 24. As soon as I clicked on transcribe clip, PR just closed. No error message. I renamed the entire preferences directory, and also all the Common files to get the cache, etc. After those changes, I got the transcribe dialogue, but as soon as I clicked transcribe, PR closed.

 

I'm not too concerned actually; they are making changes to these areas constantly, and I have seen several bugs come and go.

 

It's too bad this one happened right after @TeresaDemel's post in the regular PR forum.

Thanks for reporting this. We are aware of the issue and the next build that will include the fix is in progress. Please update to 23.03.25 once it will be available in the next few hours to get transcriptions working again.

@nbechere Thanks! Is there an update coming for the Mac/Apple silicon version as well? I was having the same crash behavior there also.
