I'm wondering if we will ever see a Sensei feature or something of that vain where you can have Premiere scan all your connected computer drives and such and it could relink your media faster in that scan than having to manually search for it everytime. I'm sure this would be a godsend and a massive timesaver for many editors.
The scanning and indexing that'd be necessary to provide snappy relinks, would be computationally expensive, "up front". PPro would have to do an elegant job of indexing 'in the background'...
I figured as much. I'm sure there have been plenty of requests for faster relinking before but I wasn't aware of the engineering necessary to pull that off.
