Gain control on waveform

Can we get a gain control on the audio waveform similar to the new crossfade control?
The same as the one already in adobe audition.
Currently we can only turn up audio gain by pressing gain and dialing in a db value, or by turning up the volume level which havens post effects and doesnt show on the waveform. Having to round trip to audition to this at the moment.

That or the Heads Up Display in Audition.

Right now, I sometimes get in trouble if I click into an audio clip to move it down a track, and I accidentally grab the volume line and move it instead. Fortunately Undo fixes easily, but it's a pain to unintentionally select something and move it.
