Annoying.
I'm working with 4k24fps 10bit s.log3 foot.
I aways work with 4k24fps 10bit s.log3 foot.
When the "automatic color space detection" -feature (heavy sarcasm) was addited -it threw my entire world into a tailspin and caused me to miss deadlines on at least 3 projects. After searching these interwebs for literally 2 days -I figured out a "work around", that worked for a few updates. Then -bang. New automated features added = issues with functionality and the communication/understanding relationship between a software platform's user -and said platform's creator(s).
Automation is cool and all -but it should be its OWN SEPARATE PLATFORM. OR A PLUG IN.
Not everyone wants everything done for them.
Please make these automatic "features" -"optional" at the least, "completely removable" at best.
Would prefer these "features" not thieve any compute and/or RAM from my workflow.
I've found the best "workaround" anyone on here can suggest is this:
go back to a version that works best for you. Use that. When the update comes out -try it out. If it doesn't require a 2 day investigation on an interenet sabatoged with pay -for-views search results, stick with it.
good luck lol.
But -to let you folks know, exporting proxies with new PP Beta doesn't work. Going back to the last v.
Managed to grab a screengrab of the message.
Happy new year.
**edit.
Can't seem to find a way to go back to the last version on CC...
lol. of course
you can herd sheep, but not cats. Know your customer.

Sadly you've not actually checked out their new full set of controls.
You can set it for total manual control easily and quickly.
Color Workspace, Lumetri panel, Settings control.
You want manual log work? Easy peasy.
1) Uncheck auto log detection. (This is sticky, do it once, that is what it now defaults to.)
2) Uncheck auto tonemap. (Also sticky.)
3) Manually set color space per file.
4) Use the same log normlization process you've been using.
So after the first file, for the rest, simply set the file color space. Add the log to either the Input color management option, or in Lumetri ... again, your choice.
Same as always.
If you want to understand both what the many new controls allow, and why, when used correctly, you might want to use them, just ask.
Oh ... and give the specific media and effects you work with, as the camera formats are so freaking different these days.
