Premiere Pro 26.0 Manual Masking Not Working

I recently downloaded Premiere Pro 26.0 and when I went to manually mask something by using the Path tool no keyframes appeared. Whenever I move the mask with my mouse keyframes do not appear but they do when I move it with the arrow keys. Why could this be and how do I fix it?

Mask needs to be in Frame mode not clip mode to be able to animate.

Thank you so much! I read the article but I am still not sure how to switch from clip mode to frame mode, how would I do that?

Have a close look at the Program Monitor.
