Request: .R3D Footage ColorSpace Transform

Now that Arri LogC has been added as a colorspace transform, can we get some love for .r3d footage as well? Right now you have to go clip by clip to get the footage to show Rec709 and there is no way to currently batch transform all of your red footage to Rec709 that I am aware of.

Thanks

I believe what you're asking here, or at least what I'd think is best to do is implementation of globally changing RED RAW settings, not the Adobe Color Management system to convert to Rec.709.

Meaning we'd have a panel where we can choose the IPP2 output color space and transfer function and also the Tone Mapping contrast and highlight rolloff. Basically the bottom section of the RAW development page.

Resolve does this very clever where you can also specify if you want to override things like ISO/WB or take that from metadata per clip.

SO MUCH THIS. That function should have been implemented back in 2016 when RED switched to IPP2 in the first place. Such a waste of time when you're scrubbing through b-roll selects to go clip by clip into the source settings—it already takes two clicks just to get to the menu.

The suboptimal workaround to this is to save a preset of your .R3D source settings and apply that to all your clips in a timeline. (Just select all clips and drag the preset onto one of them.) The downside of this approach is that it will take ALL metadata settings along with it so if you have footage with mixed camera settings you're out of luck.

Yes I agree, this is what is painful. We would just like to be able to see our raw footage in Rec.709 and not Log3G10. And not having to go into each clip individually to do it.
