Is this happening with all projects or only a specific project or media file? What kind of media are you working with and where are the files located? 

Where is your media cache stored and how much space is on your drives?

Was this ever resolved? I'm receiving the same error for one of the sequences in my project.

This is happening to me too! The project is bricked... Won't play back at all... WTH?

I was hitting the same issue and found no solutions online. I "fixed" it by creating a new project (using the same sequence settings as the original) and then copy/pasting the contents of my timeline into the new project. Plays fine in the new project.
