Can't select objects in Program panel after undocking

When undocking the Program panel to put it on my second monitor, I'm no longer able to double-click and select objects in that view (to resize, move around, etc). Re-docking the panel doesn't fix it, resetting the workspace also doesn't fix it. The only thing that brings back the ability to select anything in the Program panel is closing and reopening Premiere.

On Mac OS Sonoma 14.4.1 with Premiere Pro 24.3.0 Build 59.

That's perhaps a part of the problem with the way Premiere seems to need the Program monitor to be on the main UI window ... on the OS main screen, with the menus and all.

You can use Transmit Out to the other monitor, and if you want, really shrink the Program monitor panel down to very little space. But unfortunately, dragging the Program monitor to another screen doth often result in bizaareness ...
